Basics of Qcd Perturbation Theory

چکیده
This is an introduction to the use of QCD perturbation theory, emphasizing generic features of the theory that enable one to separate short-time and long-time e ects. I also cover some important classes of applications: electron-positron annihilation to hadrons, deeply inelastic scattering, and hard processes in hadron-hadron collisions. متن کاملug 2 00 1 Field correlators in QCD . Theory and applications
This review is aimed to demonstrate the basics and use of formalism of gauge-invariant nonlocal correlators in nonabelian gauge theories. Many phenomenologically interesting nonperturbative aspects of gluodynamics and QCD can be described in terms of corre-lators of the nonabelian field strength tensors. It is explained how the properties of correlator ensemble encode the structure of QCD vacuu...
متن کاملQuantum Chromodynamics
After a brief historical review of the emergence of QCD as the quantum field theory of strong interactions, the basic notions of colour and gauge invariance are introduced leading to the QCD Lagrangian. The second lecture is devoted to perturbative QCD, from tree-level processes to higher-order corrections in renormalized perturbation theory, including jet production in e + e − annihilation , h...
متن کاملFractional APT in QCD in the Euclidean and Minkowski regions
We describe the development of Analytic Perturbation Theory (APT) in QCD, called Fractional APT (FAPT), which has been suggested to apply the renormalization group evolution and QCD factorization technique in the framework of APT. 1 Basics of APT in QCD In the standard QCD Perturbation Theory (PT) we have: ✔ the Renormalization Group (RG) equation das(L)/dL = −as − c1 as − . . . for the effecti...
متن کاملDETERMINATION OF THE QCD COUPLING αs
Theoretical basics and experimental determinations of the coupling parameter of the Strong Interaction, αs, are reviewed. The world average value of αs, expressed at the energy scale of the rest mass of the Z boson, is determined from analyses which are based on complete NNLO perturbative QCD. The result is αs(MZ0) = 0.1184 ± 0.0031. No significant deviations or systematic biases of subsamples ...
